Crystal L. Bessix, MBA

President, Business Strategy


Crystal L. Bessix is the strategy side of the dynamic team at edOpp Solutions LLC. As president and co-founder, Mrs. Bessix leverages more than 14 years of experience in creating the bold ideas and smart strategies to achieve results for organizations. She is an award-winning branding strategist, sought-after guest lecturer for integrated marketing communications, and highly respected for her creative talent, leadership, and business expertise.

edOpp works with organizations to transform challenges with purpose, people, processes, and performance into educational opportunities. Mrs. Bessix partners with leaders to develop purposeful brands, innovate processes, maximize talent, and engage the community. Crystal’s purpose is to be a catalyst to draw out the best in organizations while mentoring and leading people to achieve their potential.

Mrs. Bessix brings the best of both worlds – business and education. Her experience in higher education administration and dedication as an adjunct professor brings a well-rounded perspective to learning and strategy at work. Certified in online teaching and trained in adult learning theory and instructional design, Crystal is able to connect theory to practice resulting in transformational workplace learning experiences and online courses.

As an alumna of University of Houston’s Bauer College of Business, Crystal received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Marketing and Management. She also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from American InterContinental University-Houston. Crystal is also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated. Currently, Mrs. Bessix is in her final year of the Doctorate of Philosophy in Leadership Studies program at Our Lady of the Lake University. When she is not studying, teaching, or leading her company, Crystal spends time with her family – husband Gary, dog Nikon, and daughter Baylee.

Dionne Maxie, MA

Vice President, Workplace Learning


Dionne Maxie is the learning side of the dynamic team at edOpp Solutions LLC, a women-owned business connecting the art of learning with the power of strategy to develop custom training and consulting solutions for work transformed with purpose.

As vice president and co-founder, Mrs. Maxie leverages more than 20 years of experience in creating real learning to transform purpose, people, processes, and performance.

At edOpp, she partners with organizations to facilitate workplace learning experiences, design customized course content, engage employees, coach executives, and coordinate corporate ESL programs. Dionne is passionate about lifelong learning. She believes organizations should constantly seek educational opportunities to achieve growth.

Mrs. Maxie brings the best of both worlds – business and education. As adjunct professor and adult learning instructor, she is known for her work in computer technology, philosophy, and adult education. Dionne is passionate about the field of Adult Education specializing in initiatives such as Counseling 2 Careers, contextualized learning, integrated career awareness, and transitions. This wealth of experience and passion brings a unique perspective to learning and strategy at work.

Mrs. Maxie is certified in online teaching, received her Bachelors of Business Administration from Letourneau University, and Masters of Counseling from Prairie View A&M. When she is back at home after teaching, working with clients, and coordinating outfits for the edOpp brand, Dionne spends time with her husband Craig and daughter Morgan.

Patrick Butler, MMHRM

Vice President, Strategic Partnerships


In his role, Patrick provides executive-level leadership and client-centered support to edOpp’s clients. He will focus on setting the strategic direction of edOpp’s workplace learning solutions, retaining key accounts, and developing new clients.

Patrick brings to edOpp nearly 15 years of experience in corporate learning, account management, and business development leadership. Most recently, he served for eight years in a regional leadership role leading workforce development professionals in the Southeast and Midwest territories. Collectively, they developed and maintained business partnerships with the nation’s leading companies and organizations. While with University Phoenix, he led teams that focused on provider and channel partner market growth, leading to successful partnerships with companies like Wal-Mart, AT&T, Quicken Loans, Finish Line, Blue Cross Blue Shield (SC), City of Columbia SC, and Palmetto Health Richland.
